Siu Cheung is a caring, devoted single mother of three teenage children and understands the difficult challenges of juggling a full-time career and motherhood. Siu is first-generation Chinese, arriving in America in 1976 from Fujian province of Mainland, China. Without any formal college education but through sheer determination and drive, she quickly became a successful entrepreneur, running multiple independent businesses.

Siu is a Senior Marketing Director with World Financial Group (WFG), a member of the AEGON Group. WFG aims to serve small businesses and middle income families, those who need the most financial guidance and advice but are often overlooked by the financial services industry. Siu has trained thousands of associates and managed geographically and ethnically diverse business teams in the U.S. and Canada. Siu is committed to “making a difference” for these overlooked families. Siu’s main focus is to help families understand and navigate through the maze of complex and confusing programs. Siu’s most recent venture is Global One Mortgage, LLC, a growing mortgage company operating in multiple states. Among her earlier business accomplishments, Siu founded Global One Realtors, Inc., a full service real estate brokerage firm based in McLean, Virginia and currently serves as its president.

Siu dedicates her campaign to the memory of a close friend and former colleague, Chak Wong. Chak and Siu worked closely together at WFG where Chak started out a new Associate. He was the first person Siu promoted to Marketing Director, a position he excelled at and cherished. Young, healthy, and full of life, he had a successful career ahead of him and a loving family—a wife and two young sons—at home. Everyone was shocked when Chak was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia in 2001. The next year was occupied with long bouts of chemotherapy, radiation, and a bone marrow transplant. Sadly, Chak lost the battle a little more than a year after his diagnosis at the young age of 46. Seeing firsthand the pain and heartache that Chak’s families and friends had to go through, Siu joins the 2007 Man/Woman of the Year campaign with the hope that one day no one will have to suffer from these life altering diseases again.

Siu is a firm believer in giving back to the community which one derives many rewarding life successes from. She serves as a Board Member of Devotion to Children (DTC). DTC is a Virginia-based local charity committed to providing access to high quality educational and childcare programs for preschool and young children from economically disadvantaged families. Siu is highly active in the McLean High School PTSA and many business associations. Siu is an active member of Golf Club at Lansdowne’ Women Golfers Association, and also plays supporting role at the Club’s charity and social events.
